So… I meant to start writing first thing this morning but then I got on TikTok and my sister had sent me “99+” TikToks and well…..

When I did eventually finish watching TikToks (an hour later), I worked on ch17. It took me a little bit to get going, actually, I felt like I was really floundering with what to say, but I ended up hitting something of a stride as I kept working away at it.

I did have to write almost all my words today while I had hay brain, but I managed it. Some days, I think that’s all you can really ask for. Especially because I did get to write about Hampstead Heath today and wow, let me tell you, I love that place. It was nice sitting in my memory this evening and just letting myself scribble all that down.

I think this chapter is going to end up running quite long by the time all is said and done, but, as of now, the only place that I can think to cut it would leave me with a very short chapter and then another chapter that would still be quite long. I don’t mind short chapters — they can be nice for pacing — but I’ll have to see how I feel about it when all’s said and done. Hopefully I finish this chapter by tomorrow so I can start figuring out what all that looks like.

I can’t believe we’re 18 days into NaNo my friends. It’s all really happening.
